Saatchi first used the name "Young British Artists" for a series of shows starting in 1992.
The Young British Artists vitalised a whole new generation of contemporary galleries such as Jay Jopling's White Cube, Sadie Coles, Victoria Miro, Maureen Paley's Interim Art and Antony Wilkinson Gallery.
The spread of interest also improved the market for contemporary British magazines through increased advertising. Frieze launched in 1991 embraced the YBAs from the start while established publications such as Modern Painters, Art Review, Art Monthly and Contemporary Art were all launched with more focus on YBAs.

Young British Artists
Young British Artists or YBAs is the name given to a group of painters, conceptual artists, sculptors and installation artists based in the United Kingdom. They achieved considerable media coverage and dominated British art during the 1990s.
